Frequently Asked Questions About PADI Courses

How long does it take to get PADI Open Water certified?

The PADI Open Water Diver course typically takes 2 to 3 days to complete at Nemo Dive Resort in Halkidiki. This includes online theory (eLearning), confined water skills practice, and 4 open water dives in the Aegean Sea.

What is the minimum age for PADI courses?

The minimum age for the Open Water Diver course is 10 years old (Junior OWD). For the Advanced Open Water Diver course, the minimum age is 12. For the Divemaster course, you must be at least 18 years old.

Is diving equipment included in the course price?

Yes! All necessary diving equipment — mask, fins, wetsuit, BCD, regulator, and tank — is fully included in our PADI course prices at Nemo Scuba Diving in Halkidiki. There are no hidden fees.

Can I do a PADI course if I'm on holiday for only one week?

Absolutely! The PADI Open Water Diver course can be completed in 2–3 days, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your Halkidiki holiday. For shorter stays, the PADI Scuba Diver certification can be completed in just 1–2 days.

What is the difference between PADI Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver?

The PADI Scuba Diver is a faster, entry-level certification (1–2 days, 3 dives, max depth 12m) that requires you to always dive with a PADI professional. The Open Water Diver (2–3 days, 5 dives, max depth 18m) is the full, globally recognized certification that allows you to dive independently worldwide.

Do I need to know how to swim to take a PADI course?

You need to be comfortable in the water and able to swim 200 meters unassisted (or 300 meters with a mask, fins, and snorkel). You do not need to be a competitive swimmer — basic water comfort is all that is required.
